A new cinematic in World of Warcraft is available. Find out here what happens to Nathanos Blightcaller, the Banshee Queen’s right-hand man.
On the American WoW servers, the pre-event of Shadowlands has already started. Players have quickly discovered a new cinematic that revolves around Nathanos Blightcaller. He is a defeat-able enemy in the pre-event and even gets his own small cinematic at the end of the quest line.

Where does the video appear? The cinematic is part of the pre-event for the upcoming expansion Shadowlands. While the Scourge runs rampant and devastates the world, Nathanos Blightcaller has been ordered by Sylvanas Windrunner to “return and wait for instructions.” He is located at the Marris Estate in the Eastern Plaguelands, his old home.
This is seen in the video: The video shows the end of the fight against Nathanos. He is bored of the heroes and keeps them in check easily. But then Tyrande, the Night Warrior, comes in. She overwhelms Nathanos and disarms him, asking about Sylvanas’ whereabouts.
Nathanos answers and reveals that Sylvanas is with “him” (the Jailer). Nathanos asks Tyrande to kill him directly, as that would send him “straight to Sylvanas.” Afterwards, Nathanos taunts Tyrande, which drives her to kill him directly, fulfilling his wish.
Who is Nathanos Blightcaller? Nathanos Blightcaller was the only human to be trained as a ranger by the elves of Quel’Thalas. When the undead Scourge invaded, he became a Forsaken and later served the Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner. He has taken on a larger role in recent expansions. Sylvanas provided him with a new body and made him her top lieutenant, who faithfully executes her orders.
In the community, Nathanos is a rather controversial character. Many players have been waiting for months to finally defeat him. Now this dream becomes a reality in a quest.
