Once again, “the legend” has achieved the goal in World of Warcraft. Doubleagent reaches level 70 and took almost 12 days for that.
In World of Warcraft there are numerous heroes and heroines – but some of them are more well-known than others. One of the greatest legends is “Doubleagent”. He is a Pandaren who simply cannot decide whether to join the Horde or the Alliance. For this reason, he spends his existence on the starting island of the Pandaren, leveling up in an unusual way. Now his journey has once again found a temporary end – as Doubleagent has reached level 70.
How did Doubleagent level up? Since Doubleagent refuses to join the Horde or the Alliance, he is stuck on the starting island of the Pandaren forever. The only reliable sources of experience points are gathering herbs and ores. Each time Doubleagent mines one of these materials, he gains a small amount of experience points. This is how he slowly paved his way to level 70.
How long did it take? Only about 12 days have passed since the launch of Dragonflight, so leveling went relatively “quickly”. However, Doubleagent did not provide an exact number of hours.
The current total playtime of Doubleagent stands at 212 days and 22 hours – that alone is already quite a significant amount. While many other WoW players may have similar playtimes, they have likely experienced much more variety than Doubleagent.
It should be noted that the player behind Doubleagent usually does other things on the side, such as watching series. Gathering herbs and ores typically requires very little attention. This is partly because he has perfected his farming route over the years, and also because the enemies in the starting area pose no threat to a Pandaren at level 70.
Doubleagent has already received several honors: Over the years, Doubleagent has inspired many impersonators who also wanted to level up in a rather unusual way. But only Doubleagent had the perseverance to do this over and over and became one of the most well-known WoW characters. Blizzard in some way acknowledged this and immortalized him as a reference multiple times:
- In the Monk Order Hall (Legion), you can see a Pandaren running around in the background, gathering ores and herbs.
- In Hearthstone, the reference is less subtle. There is the card “Doubleagent” – a Pandaren who wears both the Alliance and the Horde tabards.
Could you imagine leveling a character in this way? Or is it just crazy that Doubleagent still uses this method after years?
