After adjustments for the barely manageable dungeons in WoW Dragonflight, Blizzard comes with yet another major nerf. This time, the Court of Stars from Legion is facing the consequences – although this is the dungeon that is completed second most often.
What kind of dungeon is this? The Court of Stars is one of the 8 dungeons from Season 1 of Dragonflight and actually originates from the Legion expansion. With Dragonflight, however, Blizzard is incorporating older dungeons into the rotation to revive past content.
You fight against demons and their nightborne followers in the Court of Stars. The special feature of the dungeon is that certain professions and classes have specific interactions with items that can significantly simplify the run.
The biggest danger in the dungeon, aside from some nasty mobs at the beginning, is the final boss, Advisor Melandrus. He can quickly take out careless groups. This is exactly where Blizzard targets with a nerf.
This is the nerf: After Blizzard has already nerfed 5 of the 8 dungeons from Season 1, the Court of Stars is now also affected. The most dangerous attack from Melandrus, Chilling Maelstrom, is receiving several debuffs:
- the unavoidable damage is reduced by 20%
- the additional damage that players take within 7 meters is reduced by 30%
- Mirrors have dealt too much damage with Chilling Maelstrom, which will be fixed
With a hotfix on January 4th, the adjustments should have gone live on US servers. In Germany, they should have been active since January 5th.
Surprisingly, the Court of Stars, as one of the easiest instances, is the least popular in your ranking:
Over 80% of groups are already completing the Court of Stars
Where the other 5 dungeons were partly impossible or only very difficult to complete, the Court of Stars is actually considered one of the two easiest instances in the current rotation. Only the Shadowmoon Burial Grounds is easier.
According to the statistics page bestkeystone.com, over 80% of groups successfully completed the Court of Stars just this week. In recent weeks, the worst value here was 74%, but that was the very first week. Since then, the value has steadily increased.
Since then, the Court of Stars has been the instance that is completed second most often. With the nerf, it is possible that the dungeon could even surpass the Burial Grounds. In any case, the statistics across all instances are likely to steadily improve from now on.
Because with better equipment and simply practice, many players find it increasingly easier to complete the dungeons even at higher levels.
