A new round of nerfs in World of Warcraft is live – It has affected almost all dungeons and raids have also been made easier.
Season 4 of Shadowlands has now been live for over 2 weeks, but it’s still not quite smooth. Some dungeons are still significantly harder than others and there are also issues in the raids – even though adjustments have been made several times.
With patch 9.2.7, more nerfs came today (August 17, 2022) for many dungeons and raids. This should make the challenges significantly easier to handle.
What has changed? Blizzard has implemented a whole series of nerfs and changes that affect almost all mythic dungeons. The affix “Shrouded” has been adjusted, along with numerous abilities that in some cases have even been completely removed.

- Shadow Projection now deals 150% more damage, projectile speed is 100% slower, and the effect radius has been reduced to 4 meters (previously 6 meters).
- Tazavesh: So’leah’s Gambit
- Reinforcing Fishstick now has a cast time of 2 seconds (previously 1.5 seconds).
Changes to the Raids
For the “fated” raids, Blizzard has resorted to rather radical methods and nerfs all fights equally:
- All enemies in fated raids on heroic and mythic difficulty have 5% less health points.
Will it be even easier in the future? That remains to be seen, as depending on the current affix, some dungeons are particularly tricky. Especially the Grimrail Depot has proven to be a torture for many groups due to the narrow corridors with “Bloody” and “Shaking.” However, those still struggling with “Mythic+15” or “Mythic+20” should not despair.
At least the gear should become significantly stronger in the coming weeks as the item level of the character slowly but surely rises to the threshold of 300+. This should make the dungeons slightly less challenging.
Do you think the nerfs are good and appropriate? Or were the dungeons far too easy before?
