A Paladin has managed to defeat the raid boss MOTHER in Uldir, the current raid in World of Warcraft, solo. We reveal how that happened.
Many guilds are struggling through the raid Uldir, the first raid of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. While some groups need 20 players for a boss, the Paladin Rextroy accomplished the miracle. He defeated the boss MOTHER completely alone.
How was that possible? Rextroy used a talent called Last Defender. This talent reduces the damage taken while simultaneously increasing the damage dealt by up to 3% for each nearby enemy. There is a diminishing return effect, but there seems to be no hard cap.
With numerous little worms around him, he was able to avoid about 95% damage and simultaneously deal a lot of bonus damage.
Where did all the little worms come from? Rextroy brought the little worms from the dungeon King’s Rest. There, the worms apply a debuff that “infects” players. Infected players spawn new worms after a few seconds, which have a chance to re-infect the player. With some luck, it’s possible to endlessly bring in worms, which allow the talent Last Defender to stack very high.
Top-notch equipment: However, just picking the right talent is not enough to defeat MOTHER. An average item level of 365 was also necessary – basically a mix between normal and heroic Uldir. Additionally, he needed consumables like flasks and Vantus runes.

This performance is likely unique, and it is only a matter of time before Blizzard either nerfs “Last Defender” or changes the worms from King’s Rest.
Rextroy has previously drawn attention to himself, when he defeated the worldbreaker of Garothi solo.
What do you think of this extraordinary kill? A special achievement and clever use of game mechanics? Or clearly bug-using and thus not really a great thing?
