Are you mount collectors in World of Warcraft? Then your time has come to grab 2 of the most coveted mounts.
Mounts are a significant prestige item for many players in World of Warcraft. With several hundred of these mounts available, there is a wide selection. However, those who want to stand out from the crowd need the rarest and most impressive creatures. Patch 8.3 has added some cool mounts. Such mounts can be found with the mythic final bosses of many raids. Blizzard has now released a patch that allows some bosses to drop their mounts twice, meaning that two mounts are awarded per raid group.
Which mounts are we talking about? One of them is the “Frozen Tidesurge” from Lady Jaina Proudmoore, who awaits at the end of the raid Battle of Dazar’Alor. The mount is a massive frost elemental, which players essentially “surf” on.
On the other hand, we have the “Allseer of Ny’alotha”, which is dropped by the mythic N’Zoth in the raid Ny’alotha. This is an ugly jellyfish in a purple hue, sprinkled with numerous orange eyes, like those of the boss N’Zoth himself.
Both mounts are now dropped twice as often – meaning always guaranteed 2x per kill.
What makes these mounts so special? Final bosses of a raid often drop special mounts with unique appearances that cannot be found anywhere else in World of Warcraft on mythic difficulty. They have a drop chance of 100% – but only during the current expansion in which these mounts were introduced. After that, the drop chance for these mounts is drastically reduced – usually to about 1% – making farming difficult. Even today, players are trying to obtain the mount “Invincible” from the Lich King, which has a similarly low drop probability.
Patch previously caused errors: Blizzard actually wanted to double the drop rate of the mounts from N’Zoth and Jaina a few days ago, but it went wrong. The corresponding hotfix caused both bosses to no longer drop any mounts. However, the correct fix is now available, and both bosses always drop two of their mounts with a complete “Mythic” group.
Mount collectors should find a group by the end of Battle for Azeroth to at least get the mount from the mythic Lady Jaina Proudmoore. Because with the latest equipment, this should also be possible with reasonably coordinated random groups. N’Zoth might be more challenging, since the World First Kill was not long ago. But N’Zoth will likely become easier as the players’ gear improves.
Will you be getting the two mounts? Or will you farm them solo in the next expansion Shadowlands?
