In World of Warcraft the annual Lunar Festival takes place. However, in 2019 there are some new features that especially collectors should not miss.
The Lunar Festival is one of the oldest events in World of Warcraft, held every year. The event is regularly updated with new rewards, ensuring that even after more than a decade, something new can still be earned.
New rewards in 2019: This year there are a total of seven new toys that you can buy from the vendors at the Moonlight Glade. These include two complete costumes, consisting of three parts each, and a new hearthstone with a special animation. Here are the costs of the individual items:
- Green Dragon Tail Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
- Green Dragon Body Costume: 10 Coins of the Ancients
- Green Dragon Head Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
- Blue Dragon Tail Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
- Blue Dragon Body Costume: 10 Coins of the Ancients
- Blue Dragon Head Costume: 25 Coins of the Ancients
- Hearthstone of the Moon Elder: 30 Coins of the Ancients
So if you want all the rewards from this year, you will need 150 coins. Remember that you can collect coins with multiple characters and then buy the toys on different avatars. After all, they all end up in the same collection.
How to collect Coins of the Ancients: Coins of the Ancients can be obtained from special Ancestor NPCs found throughout the world. Each Ancestor has a quest that rewards a coin. It will be a journey around the globe, so you should plan a lot of time, or just watch a great series on the side. You can easily find all Ancestors with an addon, such as Candy Buckets (link to download on Curse). The addon conveniently shows you all Ancestors on the map so that you don’t miss any or have to google for them for too long.
Past necessary for some zones: Please keep in mind that some zones have changed significantly since the introduction of the Lunar Festival. In these areas, it is necessary to speak with Zidormi to travel to an “old version” of that zone and locate the corresponding Ancestors. This applies to Tirisfal, the Plaguelands, Teldrassil with Darkshore, and Silithus. Zidormi will be displayed on your map.
The Lunar Festival lasts for two weeks: The Lunar Festival is active from January 28 (today) to February 10 – exactly two weeks. That gives you time to earn all the rewards.
