The latest expansion of World of Warcraft is live – at least for those who paid €90. The adventures of Midnight await.
Right at 00:00 on February 27th, precisely at midnight, the launch of the Midnight expansion began – at least for a portion of the player base. Because for four days, there is early access, allowing purchasers of the premium Midnight version to dive in right now.
How can one participate in early access? If you want to take part in the early access for Midnight, you need to purchase the “Epic Edition” of Midnight. This costs a hefty €90, but comes with some additional goodies. We have highlighted all the advantages and disadvantages of the various versions here.
When is the official launch? The official launch of Midnight is exactly four days later, on March 3, 2026, at 00:00. Then everyone else can also start and explore Quel’thalas and the other new areas.
Much is playable, but there are no major advantages
Which content can be played already? During the early access, a number of features are already available. These include:
- The 4 new areas with almost all quests.
- Professions and related resources.
- Dungeons on low difficulties.
- Depths on low difficulties.
- The new loot system at the lowest level.
- The new talent points.
Which content will come later? As usual, not all content is available right at the early access launch. To prevent any significant gameplay advantage, much content will be available only with a slight delay:
- The Haranir, the new race, are not yet available, but will be at launch.
- Mythical dungeons will be accessible only after the official launch.
- Large weekly quests will also be available after the first reset.
Most endgame features, such as “Mythic+” or the new raid, will start with a significant delay, on March 18, 2026. Then the first season of Midnight begins – of course with a “World First” race and plenty of challenging dungeons that need to be learned again.
Have you already ventured out and are gaming all night long? Or are you currently grinding through work, eagerly waiting to go home and get started? Or are you even waiting for the official launch, until Blizzard fixes the – surely appearing – bugs?
If you still don’t know what’s going on: Here are 3 things you should know before the launch of Midnight.
