More than 14 hours trapped in a dungeon? These WoW players show massive endurance and never give up.
In World of Warcraft Shadowlands records are currently tumbling once again. Just a few days ago, the first group completed a “Mythic+20” in time, while other players are setting further records – but in ways you might not expect. A highly motivated group was determined to complete a dungeon – even if it took a proud 14 hours.
What happened? A group aimed to tackle the dungeon “Peak of Ascension +17”. This dungeon is already considered one of the more difficult ones; however, with the affixes this week, it became even more unpleasant. The player moogrr1211 decided to stream the entire run on Twitch, and you can watch the whole video here – the run starts at 2:46:00.
And yes, you are not mistaken. The video lasts over 17 hours; the dungeon run alone took a whopping 14 hours and 6 minutes – this could possibly be the longest visit to an instance ever.
915 deaths until victory: Those who look at the other statistics will quickly realize that not only was time an issue during the dungeon visit, but also the mob groups and bosses. With 915 deaths, each player died on average 183 times – that was already several thousand gold in repair costs.
On average, the group had an item level of 199 – the healer ranked last with 181, while the fury warrior with item level 212 was the best-equipped fighter in the group.
Viewers kept cheering them on: For the spectators in the chat, it was apparently quite entertaining. Time and again, the group was encouraged to keep trying and not lose hope. This was likely one of the main reasons why the group ultimately managed to succeed with a proud 915 deaths (equivalent to about 180 wipes).
The “nerd scream” when the final boss finally falls is almost reminiscent of the World First Kill by Limit. But just listen and watch for yourself – and see how the chat “goes wild”:
Perhaps this is not the most impressive achievement in terms of time and results, but having the endurance to keep working on the bosses after more than a dozen hours is commendable. Especially in a WoW era where many players simply leave the group wordlessly after the third failed attempt.
Would you have had that much endurance? Or would you have thrown in the towel sooner?
