The long maintenance work for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has begun. When can we finally play Patch 9.1?
Update 9:20 AM: The maintenance work has ended early! The servers are live, and you can play Patch 9.1!
Original report: World of Warcraft is currently rolling out its first major content patch for Shadowlands. In order for the Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination to start smoothly, there are extended maintenance works today, June 30, 2021. So if you wanted to play in the morning, you will have to wait a bit.
How long will the maintenance work last? The maintenance work is scheduled to be particularly long today; Blizzard has allotted a full 8 hours for this. The maintenance began at 6:00 AM and is expected to last until 2:00 PM. After that, the realms should be available, and after installing the large patch, you can explore Korthia, the new covenant campaign, and the new layers of Torghast.
Can the maintenance work end earlier? Yes. Especially in Europe, it has often happened with past major patches that Blizzard needed only a fraction of the time stated to bring the servers up to date. So if you have nothing to do today, you should check in every half hour and see if the realms are online again.
As soon as all the servers are available again, we will naturally report on it here at MeinMMO.
Should you watch out for something? Yes. Remember, as with every major and minor patch, to update your interface addons to the latest version or catch up on that in the coming days. Many addons already have updated versions, while other updates will follow in the coming days.
It is also important that not all contents are available immediately at launch. The covenant campaign unfolds over several weeks, and the raids and the mega dungeon traditionally start with a delay. LFR players will have to wait particularly long to be able to fight against Sylvanas.
Are you excited for the new patch and the fresh content? Or are you waiting for more to be unlocked in a few weeks, such as the raid Sanctum of Domination?
