Leveling in World of Warcraft will be faster soon. The cuts will be drastic, and the time to reach the maximum level will be much shorter.
The BlizzCon 2019 is in full swing and there is some new information about the upcoming WoW expansion Shadowlands. In the “Deep Dive” panel, the developers talked about the future of leveling in Azeroth and addressed a lot of points. Especially the level duration to the maximum level – currently still 120, soon to be reduced to 50 – will proceed much faster.
What was said? Blizzard revealed how leveling in World of Warcraft is to be overhauled. In addition to the “Level Squish,” where players are set from level 120 to level 50, the overall leveling speed is also expected to be drastically increased. The developers plan to significantly reduce the duration of leveling. They mentioned a 60-70% faster leveling phase up to level 50. This way, all players can quickly reach the endgame and the current expansion.
New starting area up to level 10: WoW will also receive a new zone for fresh characters. “Exile’s Reach” is a new island where players will start with their first character. Those who have been playing WoW for longer can also go to the normal starting areas.
The advantage is that they want to give completely new players an engaging entry experience that meets the current standards. Moreover, all races can start here – if you play a blood elf, but your friend plays an orc, you can begin together in Exile’s Reach.
Leveling with just one add-on: Once players reach level 10 or complete the quests from “Exile’s Reach,” they can choose an add-on and quest to their heart’s content.
Chromie is supposedly even helping to put the whole world into a kind of “time wandering.” So if someone wants to play only missions from “Legion,” they will see Sylvanas as the current Warchief in Orgrimmar and can only accept quests related to Legion. However, this can also be deactivated upon request. This is meant to help players not get confused with different timelines.
By the way, completing a single expansion should be enough to level from level 10 to 50.
