Leveling is fun again since patch 7.3.5. We will tell you which WoW areas you should explore in peace on the Horde side.
With patch 7.3.5, Blizzard made some major changes to the game world of World of Warcraft. All zones in Azeroth, the Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, and Draenor will now scale with the character’s level.
This allows new characters to experience quest areas in their entirety and complete the story of each zone without the character’s level already being too high.
The most beautiful leveling areas on the Horde side
But which zones in World of Warcraft are worthwhile? Which stories are worth reading the quest texts and actually stopping for the little NPC events?
After all, many players don’t read quest texts at all but just hammer “Accept” and travel to the marked location on the map. But some missions are definitely worth reading!
In this article, we want to briefly introduce you to the areas with the most beautiful, exciting, or funniest questlines – today in the version for the Horde.
The Silverwood (Level 10-60)
The Silverwood is all about Sylvanas’ war against the Worgen. On behalf of the Dark Lady, the remaining Gilneans are rounded up, systematically killed, and resurrected as undead to serve the Forsaken of the Horde. Not only is the area dark, but also the story that is told here is very grim. You are rewarded with a finale that involves the survival of a leader of the Horde.
Hillsbrad Foothills (Level 15-60)
The conquest continues directly in the Hillsbrad Foothills after the Silverwood. It remains grim, and some mini-areas are quite cruel, but here you will find more amusing quests and funny NPCs. Players even become quest givers themselves and assign missions to all sorts of “cliché” characters. Among them is “Kagbuhn”, a somewhat bumbling undead who keeps needing help.
Desolace (Level 40-60)
Desolace was devastated even before the Cataclysm, and that hasn’t changed since then. However, some exciting missions await players who dare venture here. One mission involves protecting the last egg of a red dragon from Deathwing. In another place, some “onlookers” want to describe in detail how Deathwing’s attack was executed (from their perspective) – namely, on a motorcycle with a hot blood elf in each arm. That’s how it was, for sure!
Azshara (Level 10-60)
Goblins are a funny bunch with all kinds of experimental drives. If you give them too much freedom, it ends up like in Azshara. Labs are set up everywhere, and the area is being exploited. Besides funny inventions, there’s also a wacky love story here. Who would have thought that dragons would fall in love with spirit healers?
Stonecrag Mountains (Level 20-60)
Under the leadership of Warchief Garrosh, not everything was bad. Or was it? You will experience how cruel and precise the war machinery of the Horde can be in the Stonecrag Mountains. A conquest campaign awaits you, where you climb through the ranks of the Horde and extinguish the life forces of the nasty night elves and their trees.
Grizzly Hills (Level 63-80)
In Northrend, no area can match the beauty of Grizzly Hills. The music and surroundings invite you to linger and are somewhat detached from the scourge of the undead that usually plagues Northrend. Besides the beauty of the area itself, there are also interesting questlines. Such as the rise and fall of a rogue orc leader and the dark secrets of the Old Gods that lie beneath the surface of the forest.
Zul’Drak (Level 64-80)
In Zul’Drak, the story from Grizzly Hills continues. You witness a great betrayal and then have to operate in a long questline disguised as a servant of the Scourge. Alongside a meeting with the Lich King himself, some cool “showdown” battles await you. Troll lovers will particularly enjoy it here, as there are many details about the trolls’ background story.
The Jade Forest (Level 80-90)
The Jade Forest is the starting point for the journey to Pandaria. The Horde and Alliance both want to conquer the new continent – this conflict is brewing in the Jade Forest. However, the Horde’s version is a bit more atmospheric because you get to know the crazy people of the Hozen and even chase the missing prince of Stormwind. Coupled with the first signs of the Sha, strange monsters that cause negative feelings to arise.
The Blasted Lands (Level 84-90)
Completely devoid of any joy is the Blasted Lands. Here lives the insect-like race of the Klaxxi, making players the “Awakener” who awakens the mighty Paragon Klaxxi. You learn a lot about this strange species and the magical properties of amber. Additionally, a large part of the quests is voiced, and at the end, there’s even a strong revelation that might shock some players.
No matter how you plan the leveling phase of your new Horde character – you should definitely take the mentioned areas into account, as they contain many interesting or funny stories!
