Leveling in World of Warcraft has never been so fast. In less than an evening, you can get your characters to level 50.
If you want to level a character in modern World of Warcraft to make it fit for the Dragon Isles, there has probably never been a better time. Currently, the experience bonuses are stacking up so much that the leveling phase literally flies by. In the WoW subreddit, some boast about their leveling time, which is impressive – because it takes just over 4 hours to reach level 50.
What happened? In the WoW subreddit, Err0 shared a screenshot showing his Lightforged Draenei Hunter. He had just reached level 50 with a playtime of only 4 hours and 16 minutes – that was the total time Err0 needed to level up to level 50.
Lightforged Draenei count as an Allied Race, so they start at level 10. But according to Err0, that doesn’t make a big difference, as the time from level 1 to 10 would only add another 20 to 30 minutes at most.
Which leveling route did he take? If you want to level just as fast, you can simply copy Err0’s leveling route. It’s quite simple and leads to success in just a few hours. He proceeded as follows:
- The “Warlords of Draenor” intro experience until unlocking the Garrison
- Switching to “Cataclysm Time” with Chromie
- The Forest of Elwynn
- The Redridge Mountains
- The Duskwood
- Loch Modan
After completing the 4 areas, you should already be at level 50.
It is important to also keep an eye out for “Rare Spawns” on the side. Because they can drop as much XP when killed as completing a quest.
What XP bonuses did he combine? Currently, there are many XP bonuses that can be combined. The “Wind of Wisdom” buff is currently active, granting a hefty 50% bonus experience. But the WoW anniversary is also active, which adds another 18%. If you also visit the Darkmoon Faire, you’ll receive an additional 10%. This results in a total bonus of 78% more experience points. After level 20, you should also activate the War Mode to receive an additional bonus of 10% to 15%.
Why did he stop at level 50? The reason is that currently you have to go through Shadowlands with level 50. The last 10 levels (up to level 60) go significantly slower and have to be completed in the Shadowlands. However, this will change soon as the “Chromie Time” will soon be expanded to level 60. Then it will be possible to level up to level 60 in old areas as well. At the same time, the required experience from level 50 to 60 will be drastically reduced – about 80% less XP will be needed then.
If you want to play “maximally efficiently”, you should get as many characters as possible to level 50 now and complete the rest after the Chromie Time change takes place.
Are you leveling your twinks as well? Have you already done that a long time ago? Or are you doing that only with the new expansion Dragonflight?
