With the next expansion of World of Warcraft, Karazhan will be updated and will receive a “new” zone – what is it all about?
The Tower of the Last Guardian
If there is a place in all of World of Warcraft where at least story-wise there are still countless secrets, it would be Karazhan. The Tower of the Last Guardian offers much potential for exciting stories, great mysteries, or eerie secrets. With the introduction of the artifact weapons in Legion, the perfect time has come to finally tell some of these stories.
For example, an artifact of the warlocks revolves around the 4 horsemen, who were once cursed by Medivh to gather magical artifacts for him.
Corpses Out, Treasures In
Especially around the catacombs beneath Karazhan, countless stories circulate. There is an accessible area that was once important for the Karazhan attunement quest and a “locked” zone that lies behind a grate. Those who, due to bugs or on private servers, managed to get behind this grate saw grotesque horrors, such as hanged corpses missing limbs, which hung from the floor to the ceiling and not from above to below. This zone has now been changed in the beta of Legion.
Instead of the countless dead bodies, there are now various rooms where magical artifacts can be found. It is quite possible that more than one artifact finds its origin here, given all the treasures that the last guardian accumulated in his life.
However, information about Karazhan should always be taken with a certain caution. In the past, the WoW developers have had fun with the fans by simply renaming various areas, so that data miners stumbled upon supposed “sensations” – they were only led by the nose. However, this time it seems to be no fake, as it fits wonderfully with the story of several artifact weapons.
