At BlizzCon, the developers talked about the upcoming raid instances of World of Warcraft: Legion.
17 bosses until the orc lies in the dust
Like Warlords of Draenor, the next addon Legion will also launch with 2 major raid instances. In total, there will be 17 bosses to defeat, which will be unlocked wing by wing (at least for LFR players) in the first months after launch. At BlizzCon, the developers talked a little more about some of the enemies lurking in the raid instances.
The Emerald Nightmare
For years, fans have longed for an expansion that brings the emerald dream as a playable area. Blizzard has now fulfilled this wish, albeit much darker than many had hoped. The emerald nightmare will be the first raid instance and represents a perverted version of the dream that was once a blueprint for Azeroth – this is how the world would have looked if the mortal races had not intervened.
There are a total of 7 bosses in the raid instance located in Val’Sharah, including corrupted dragons (WoD completely lacked dragons – did anyone notice?) and the corrupted Cenarius. The former demigod of the night elves has fallen victim to the corruption of the dream and is now waiting for his redemption by the players. Whether he actually “dies” or is just cleansed is still unknown; they probably didn’t want to reveal all the story secrets.
As the final boss of the dream awaits Xavius, the former servant of Queen Azshara, who has become the master of the nightmare in recent years. Here he is at the height of his power and confronts the players in his darkest form – it is his realm, and the fight will be played by his rules, whatever that may mean for the battle.
The Palace of Suramar
In the ancient city of Suramar lies the civilization of the Nightborne – mutated night elves who have, similar to the high elves, completely given themselves to the indulgence of arcane energies and draw from a mystical source, the Nightwell. 10 different bosses await the players in the grand city, including various demons of the Burning Legion and ultimately the leader of the Nightborne, the Magistrix, one of the most powerful sorceresses of the time. Only when all enemies are defeated will Gul’dan make his appearance, the one we owe this whole mess to.
