In Suramar, the end zone of WoW: Legion, there is a lot of Ancient Mana. We reveal what you can do with it.

Once you reach level 110 in World of Warcraft: Legion and set off for Suramar, you will find Ancient Mana at every corner. This is stored under “Currencies” in the character menu. But what is the purpose of Ancient Mana? We reveal the benefits of the bundled magic.
Somewhat simplified, one could say: Ancient Mana does just about everything in Suramar. But let’s take a closer look at the individual points:
- The Nightborne of Suramar need Ancient Mana at regular intervals; otherwise, they will not speak to you, as hunger drives them insane. Anyone who wants to take on quests must first satisfy their thirst for magic.
- Some quests require Ancient Mana.
- Later in the quest chain, you will unlock teleporters that connect locations throughout Suramar. Activating these portals costs a one-time moderate amount of Ancient Mana (between 100 and 250).
- For the history of the zone, various ley lines need to be activated. Activation also costs larger amounts of Ancient Mana.
- Many vendors accept Ancient Mana as currency, especially in the capital of the Nightborne. This allows you to unlock toys, buffs, or temporary companions.
- Numerous devices, such as protective enchantment stones, require Ancient Mana. Most of the time, a temporary buff awaits.
With all these uses, it is only good that Ancient Mana is available at almost every corner:
- It can be looted from almost all enemies. Some enemies are “infused with ley magic” and leave behind several units of Ancient Mana.
- Crystals, shards, and chunks lie all over the place, granting between 10 and 50 Ancient Mana when looted.
- Within the barrier of Suramar (i.e., the capital), there are virtually endless supplies of Ancient Mana. It can be found in plants and Arcwine bottles, but also in tomes and treasure chests.
Important: Remember your Mana Wyrmstone, which you receive very early in Suramar! This will display the sources of Ancient Mana directly on the minimap.
