We reveal how you can get the hidden artifact weapon skins of the Mage in World of Warcraft.
In World of Warcraft: Legion, the artifact weapons not only have plenty of different designs but also a few hidden skins – each specialization has its own. We reveal where to find the special skins for the two specs of the Mage.
Arcane – The Burden of the Woolmancer
No spell is as powerful as Polymorph. At least some Mages would like that. To unlock “The Burden of the Woolmancer,” several steps must be completed.
First, you must apply the Polymorph spell to 5 unique enemies:
- Felswings Hippogryph (Azsuna)
- Summit Goat (Highmountain)
- Runetusk Calf (Sturmheim)
- Heartwood Doe (Suramar)
- Wild Dreamrunner (Val’sharah)
The next hurdle is an artifact knowledge level of 6. Once these steps are completed, there is a daily chance for a sheep to spawn in the Class Hall. Click on this as often as necessary until it explodes. Then head to Sturmheim to the Rune Forest. Here too, look for an angry sheep and click on it as many times as necessary until it explodes.
For the final step, you must go to the forest of Elwynn to the Tower of Azora. A short event begins where several enemies must be defeated. Afterwards, you will receive “The Burden of the Woolmancer.” By the way: With every Polymorph, there is a chance that the weapon design briefly turns into a real sheep!
Fire – Design of the Stars
Fire Mages need to be a little patient, as they require an artifact knowledge level of 5 to have a chance at the hidden skin. Afterwards, they can head to Suramar and simply blow away anything that stands in their way – all enemies in the region have a chance to drop “Design of the Stars.” This gives Felo’melorn the crystalline appearance preferred by the Nightborne for their weapons.
Frost – Frozen Fire Memory
Mages with the Frost specialization must purchase a certain upgrade level for their Class Hall to have a chance at the hidden skin. When the “Teleportation Nexus” (level 2 of the Class Hall) is researched, the Mage has 5 portals available in the Halls that take them to all locations of the Broken Isles. Every day, there is a chance that the portals will go haywire (an emote in the Class Hall indicates this). Then, using the portals will send you to the Frozen Fire Ridge, where you can loot the Everflame Crystal. This only needs to be used and you have unlocked the new appearance “Frozen Fire Memory.”
