In World of Warcraft there was a bug. The Withered J’im is back again.
Among the most lucrative world quests in World of Warcraft are the world bosses. Each of them is active for only one week and lures with a fancy reward, in the form of artifact power, a truckload of order resources, or plenty of gold. In addition, there is a chance to loot cool gear with an item level of 860 from defeating the world boss, which can be further upgraded with a bit of luck.
However, this week there was a bug, as the “Withered J’im” is now the current world boss for the second week in a row. In fact, the bosses should alternate, and a duplication should be avoided. Blizzard has acknowledged the bug but does not plan to change anything this week.
So it is said by the developer:
“Something went wrong with our world boss rotation this week, and we know that J’im is active again. Our intention for these bosses is that they should alternate more and appear rather in a fixed sequence. We do not plan to change anything this time, but we will work on avoiding duplications (or worse) in the future.”
Of course, this immediately led to criticism in the forum, with one user responding sarcastically:
“In other words, you have no intention of changing such an obvious bug because you can simply say: “Oops, deal with it.” Thank you for once again showing the community how little you care about the quality of your game.”
Blizzard of course could not let this sit and justified the decision as follows:
“In my opinion, fixing the bug now would lead to problems. It would be a bad experience for everyone who has already killed J’im. And an even worse experience for everyone who has not killed him yet (because then they would have missed one of two world boss kills this week).”
