We present to you the three artifact weapons that Warriors can loot in World of Warcraft: Legion.
In World of Warcraft: Legion, much revolves around the artifact weapons. These are given to players early on and grow with their bearers throughout the expansion. Each talent specialization receives its own weapon, meaning that Warriors have a total of 3 artifacts available. Let’s take a look at the individual weapons.
Weapons – Stromkar, the Warbreaker (Artifact Weapon for Arms Warriors)
Background story: When the Humans united under one banner and founded the vast kingdom of Arathor, it was King Thoradin who wielded this sword and made significant contributions to the end of the Troll Wars. It was only in the battle against a C’Thraxxi – a powerful servant of the Old Gods – that the sword was lost somewhere in the tunnels beneath Tirisfal. Since then, Stromkar has lain in these caves, feeding on the dark power of the being it last defeated.
Properties of Stromkar: It’s not surprising that the properties of Stromkar mainly increase damage. Critical strike chance and reduced rage costs for key abilities await.
- At the beginning, Warbreaker awaits, causing spikes to erupt from the ground in a targeted area, dealing damage to all enemies hit and allowing the Warrior to temporarily ignore their entire armor.
- Through Corrupted Blood of Zakaj, Stromkar emits shadow energy for 5 seconds after the activation of Battle Cry. This ensures that all your attacks deal an additional 20% shadow damage over 6 seconds.
- Void Cleave is a direct upgrade for Cleave. Whenever Cleave hits 3 or more targets, Stromkar emits shadow energy, dealing additional damage to all enemies.
- Shattered Defenses enhances Colossal Smash, causing the next Mortal Strike or Execute to deal 30% additional damage and gain a 30% additional critical strike chance.
Fury – Warblades of the Valarjar (Artifact Weapons for Fury Warriors)
Background story: Many millennia ago, Odyn betrayed the sorceress Helya and killed her. From her soul, he created a ghostly Val’kyr. In retaliation, Helya stole the freshly created blades that were meant for the strongest Valarjar – the forged servants of Odyn. Helya poured her wrath into the blades and gave them to her own champion, so that he would hunt all heroes to send their souls to Helheim. There, the souls would serve Helya for eternity. Even now, Helya’s wrath flows through the weapons, tempting the bearer to merciless attacks – as if they had a will of their own rather than being possessed by the owner.
Properties of the Warblades of the Valarjar: For Fury, the name also says it all. All properties can be directly converted into damage, as either the critical strike chance is increased or the direct damage is enhanced.
- Odyn’s Fury is a devastating AoE attack that deals heavy damage to all enemies within a radius of 14 meters and causes additional fire damage over 4 seconds.
- With Rage of the Valarjar, Rampage and Execute have a chance to activate the “Berserk” effect. This increases critical strike chance and attack speed by 3% every second for 12 seconds (stackable 12 times).
- Particularly exciting is Odyn’s Champion. This gives Rampage a chance to have Odyn designate you as his champion, which reduces the cooldown of all other abilities by 2 seconds whenever any offensive ability is used for 6 seconds.
- Through Juggernaut, you can theoretically become infinitely strong. Each use of Execute increases the damage of Execute by 5%. This stacks up to 99 times.
Protection – Scale of the Earthwarder (Artifact Weapon for Protection Warriors)
Background story: Few things are as strong as the scale of a dragon, and this one is a particularly special example. It comes from Neltharion, the Earthwarder, who is better known to many today as Deathwing. When this scale was formed into a shield, the Vrykul king Magnar Icebreaker carried it for a long time. He won battles that seemed hopeless. When he ultimately fell, it was only because the Val’kyr Helya had set a trap for him and betrayed him. To this day, the shield rests along with the corpse in the Path of Kings of Stormheim.
Properties of the Scale of the Earthwarder: As expected, the properties of the scale are designed for tanks, thus increasing health points, maximum rage, and armor. An interesting feature is that spell reflection reflects all spells for its duration (instead of just one).
- At the beginning, there is Neltharion’s Fury, with which the Warrior adopts a defensive stance and critically blocks all attacks for the channeling time of 3 seconds. At the same time, the scale emits a flame breath, dealing damage to all targets in front of the Warrior.
- Might of the Vrykul ensures that Shield Slam and Revenge generate 50% more rage as long as Demoralizing Shout is active.
- With Dragon Scales, Ignore Pain has a chance to additionally ignore 60% of incoming damage after a blocked attack.
- The Scales of the Earth give the Warrior’s critical blocks a chance to temporarily increase armor by 30% and trigger an eruption that damages all opponents in front of the Warrior.
