The next hotfix for WoW brings numerous buffs and nerfs, especially in PvP.
With the maintenance work tonight (November 16, 2016), a new hotfix will be applied to World of Warcraft that slightly ruins the day for Shadow Priests.
The reason for the problem is still the talent “Descent into Madness.” To take some wind out of the sails of this ability, the Priest’s insanity is reduced while in Voidform. The insanity now decreases more slowly at the beginning of Voidform (8 per second instead of 9 per second), but the decay increases 10% more.
Aside from that, all legendary items are increased by 15 item levels (now 910), and all items from the Trials of Valor are increased by 5 item levels. These improvements are retroactively valid.
Moreover, there are a number of adjustments that are only active in PvP.
- Frost Death Knights lose about 10% of their Strength attribute.
- Fire Mages gain 10% additional Intelligence.
- Elemental Shamans gain 5% additional Intelligence, but the bonus damage of the artifact weapon ability is reduced to 100% (previously 200%).
- Rogues receive a bit more Stamina (5%), but Feint now only reduces AoE damage taken by 30% (instead of 50%).
- Paladins lose 23% of their mana regeneration in PvP, which means they can no longer heal as long as before.

Cortyn says: As a Shadow Priest, I am quite biased, but I cannot understand Blizzard’s decision. If you want to weaken Descent into Madness, why target the insanity rate of all Shadow Priests? Oh well. Let’s wait and see how it plays out. At least the strengthening of the legendaries suits me well and should raise the average item level by one or two points.
