The last achievement of Karazhan has been solved. With this, another mystery of World of Warcraft is now history.
The Patch 7.1 of World of Warcraft, which has brought many other contents along with the mythical re-release of the instance Karazhan, has been on the live servers for quite some time. However, only this week did players manage to complete the last achievement of the instance, The Rat Pack. The achievement requires players to do the following:
“Defeat a Mana Chaser while your entire group is riding a rat of ordinary size.”
What sounds simple in theory – after all, it is known that the Mana Chaser is a boss – was in practice much harder, as no one really knew how to get to the rats that the players must ride on. The solution to the riddle is actually easier than expected, as one merely needs to “loot” rats that are roaming around Karazhan. They then drop an item that can summon a riding rat.
The corresponding critters can be found between the Curator and the Shade of Medivh, they are spread all over the hallway and on the individual platforms. However, you should be careful not to use area spells, as they will instantly kill the rats – however, they will respawn after a while. So, if you are not in a hurry, you can wait for the respawn.
The Rat Pack – How to achieve it in WoW
The rest is self-explanatory: The entire group must mount a rat before the fight against the Mana Chaser, and then the boss must be defeated. However, this also means that no one may die during the fight, as the buff for the riding rat will otherwise disappear.
Fun fact: In English, the achievement is called “The Rat Pack” and refers to a group of entertainers in the 50s and 60s around Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The German translation is likely inspired by the animated film “Ratatouille,” in which a rat rises to become the best chef in France.
This should complete the achievement series around Karazhan for most players.
