Soon, the first demons will invade Azeroth. The pre-event for World of Warcraft: Legion is right around the corner.
Toys, Transmogrification, and Weapons with Item Level 700
To properly herald the next expansion of World of Warcraft, Legion, there is an extensive event. As Data Miners have already discovered, various areas of Azeroth will be attacked by landing ships and portals of the Burning Legion, and players must repel them. In an official blog post, Blizzard has now gone into more detail about the approach and the rewards of this event.
On the world map, it is always easy to see where the Burning Legion is currently invading, allowing players to quickly respond and fly to the corresponding area. Each invasion occurs in a total of 4 stages, and each stage is rewarded with Nethershards, a new currency. Occasionally, there are also bonus chests that can be obtained. In the weeks following the start of the attacks, these will become more intense and frequent – as time progresses, the chances of participating in an invasion will increase.
Nethershards and Stylish Armor
With the Nethershards, players can purchase a total of 4 armor sets that can then be used for transmogrification, one each for cloth, leather, mail, and plate. Additionally, there are also new trinkets, rings, and various buff items, as well as a special pet that can only be obtained during the event.
Apart from the Nethershards, bosses during the invasions can also drop unique weapons with item level 700. The skins of these weapons are also only available at the event. Item level 700 is also well suited to start in the upcoming expansion – at least until players obtain their artifact weapon.
Lastly, Blizzard also hints at a new toy, the “Pocket Fel Spreader,” with which players can spread the corruption of the Legion everywhere in the world – quite a strange toy for heroes of Azeroth.
No fixed date for the start of the invasion has been set yet. However, Blizzard has announced that the event will not begin “a few weeks after the patch” so that players have enough time to adjust to the extensive changes. In the blog, they mention “around the second or third week of August.”
