The artifact weapons in WoW are becoming even more powerful. Each weapon will gain new, strong traits.
The artifact weapons from World of Warcraft: Legion are a significant part of each character’s personal progression. While most players are currently working on the 30th or 31st trait point of their weapon, the developers have already released plans for the future.
With Patch 7.2, each artifact weapon will receive 3 completely new “traits” into which players can invest their artifact power. Additionally, all the small bonuses that could previously have up to 3 points invested in will be increased to a new maximum of 4. In total, each weapon can distribute about 15 new points to further increase its power.
To unlock these new points, players must have completed the next part of their artifact campaign – this will be unlocked with Patch 7.2 when all other bonuses for a weapon have already been purchased.
Also new with Patch 7.2 are new levels of artifact knowledge and “new methods by which newcomers and secondary characters can catch up more quickly.” It is planned that up to a certain level, artifact knowledge can be directly purchased for order resources without having to wait for the research time.
Please keep in mind that these statements are only provisional and much can still change before the release of Patch 7.2.
Cortyn says: Although it will definitely take a few weeks until the first players have fully upgraded their artifact weapons, it is good to see that Blizzard already has new talents in reserve. Because if artifact power were to fall away as a motivation, Legion would lose a lot of the carrot we are currently chasing. Since artifact power is present in (almost) every kind of content, every content is worthwhile, even if you do not receive better gear. Therefore, it is only logical that Blizzard continues to expand the artifact weapons.
