Karazhan returns in World of Warcraft. As a 5-player instance in content patch 7.1.
The Return of Medivh in Patch 7.1?
World of Warcraft: Legion has not been released yet, but the developers are already providing information on what comes next after the release. Shortly after the launch of Legion, on August 30, the test server is expected to go live with Patch 7.1. This patch is titled “Return to Karazhan” and brings a new Karazhan version for 5 players, which will again include 9 bosses.
Patch 7.1 will also include a small raid that is meant to continue the story of Stormheim. Additionally, players can expect new outdoor activities at this time. It is still unclear whether these will be new world quests or even fresh quest lines.
The trailer shows a (slightly frightened) man wandering near the tower who is soon attacked by an undead. The attacker is none other than Medivh’s servant, Moroes. He is still waiting for the return of his master. However, other visitors have since announced themselves – the demons of the Burning Legion. Apparently, Moroes grants them entrance to prepare for “The Return of the Master” – will Medivh be resurrected once again? More information is expected to follow at GamesCom.
After that, Ion Hazzikostas announced some more information in the “Legion Cafe” in Cologne. The goal is for players to receive new content regularly in Legion. This also applies to the waiting period for a new expansion – long content gaps like before are to be avoided (as always). The individual raids are expected to keep players occupied for about 4 to 5 months before they are replaced by the next raid.
