The world boss “Na’zak the Fiend” was the reason for new bans from Blizzard in World of Warcraft. We reveal what the players have done wrong.
Since yesterday, a second world boss has been active in World of Warcraft, Na’zak the Fiend. Not even a day later, serious problems have already arisen with the world boss, as numerous players exploited a bug.
By exploiting a bug in the game, numerous players were able to defeat the world boss “Na’zak the Fiend” multiple times. This shouldn’t actually be a problem, but players also received loot for each additional defeat – and that was not intended. Normally, a world boss drops loot only once per character – with the bonus roll another time.
On Reddit and in the official forum, players are now reporting that they have been banned by Blizzard for defeating the boss up to 10 times and thus hoarding its loot.
Blizzard has issued account suspensions ranging from 3 to 7 days for this.
A customer service representative from the German forum, Tyryndar, explained:
Alchemists should hurry to extract the potion of extended power (rank 3) from Na’zak. Who knows when this world boss will reappear?
Cortyn says: It annoys me a little that some players stand up and claim they didn’t know they were exploiting a bug. Sometimes I really wonder if some people lose their minds as soon as the PC is turned on. Of course, it’s a mistake by Blizzard that it was even possible to circumvent the loot lockout with a few tricks – but deliberately exploiting an obvious bug is still the responsibility of the players.
Apart from that, the pirate server Nostalrius will soon relaunch under the new name “Elysium”.
