The raid guild Exorsus has already cleared the Emerald Nightmare on mythic difficulty in WoW after 17 hours.
After the first raid instance “Emerald Nightmare” was released last week only on normal and heroic difficulty, the last difficulty level followed on Wednesday: Mythic. Most fans were expecting an exciting race between the major raid guilds, but that didn’t happen.
Xavius’ Nightmare lasted just under 17 hours
The – more or less unknown – underdog from Russia, the guild “Exorsus”, has already killed Xavius on mythic. Other well-known guilds, such as Method or Serenity, were still stuck at 5/7 bosses and joyfully died repeatedly to Cenarius, who is generally regarded as one of the most difficult bosses of the raid.
In any case, congratulations to Exorsus; in the future, the guild will likely be kept in closer watch – especially when the race for the Nighthold begins.
The second “gigantic raid” will only open in a few months when the story of Suramar is concluded.
Cortyn thinks: While the guild celebrates its success, some players are going on the offensive and using the topic to reignite the usual “WoW is way too easy” discussion. After all, it’s been a while since the hardest final boss was defeated so soon after the release of the raid. This is surely also due to the new gear system, where players can properly equip themselves outside of raids. Moreover, this time it probably wasn’t necessary to nerf a boss first – that has often been the case in the past, as bosses were occasionally unbeatable due to being too powerful.
In general, it holds true: whoever thinks that WoW is “way too easy” should first complete the raid themselves on mythic. Most of us will likely still be running around in heroic mode for quite a while.
