Soon, the smaller patch 7.1.5 for WoW: Legion will be released. And it has more to offer than one might initially think!
With the current expansion “Legion”, Blizzard is following a pretty tight release schedule regarding new content patches. As Ion Hazzikostas revealed on stage at BlizzCon, in the past there were usually very large “mega-patches” that contained a lot of content. If there are about 4 new features, but one of them is not quite ready, then the patch gets delayed.
This is what they want to fix now with small “interim patches”, so that completed features can reach players earlier while the other aspects receive their final polish.
For this reason, there is already the PTR for patch 7.1.5 right after BlizzCon, which is supposed to include the following innovations:
- Timewalking for all “Mists of Pandaria” dungeons
- The brawler’s guild returns with new bosses and rewards
- Secondary stats (crit, mastery, haste, etc.) will be revamped to be more equal
- Talent revisions for some classes that essentially have “no choice” in talents
Also new is the introduction of “Micro-Holidays”, small holidays in World of Warcraft. These mini-events do not provide significant achievements or rewards, but are simply holidays celebrated by the inhabitants of Azeroth and are meant to bring new, short-term activities that offer no particular “seriousness” or “progress”. The following days are planned:
- Voluntary Watch Day: Take on the role of a city guard and protect Stormwind or Orgrimmar from enemies so that the guard can take a break.
- Ahn’Qiraj Remembrance Day: In memory of the efforts to open Ahn’Qiraj, players can gather in Silithus and donate resources again. Whichever faction collects the most resources will have their faction banners flying over Ahn’Qiraj for the rest of the year.
- Boat Day: Grab a boat and explore the waters of Azeroth! What a great invention!
