In World of Warcraft: Legion there will be legendary items as random drops – we have all the details for you!

On the second day of BlizzCon, some details about the gameplay systems of the latest World of Warcraft expansion “Legion” were revealed. During the “Game Systems” panel, multiple gameplay aspects were discussed. The developers asked the audience if they remembered the “random drops” from the classic version of World of Warcraft. This included various items with unique effects that were rarely seen but were very cool and unique.
They want to bring back that feeling in Legion. However, in an era where content is consumed quickly, such random drops would lose significance very quickly – unless they are significantly enhanced. For this reason, Blizzard is introducing legendary items that can drop anywhere in Legion and shall accompany you throughout the entire expansion, similar to the artifact weapons.
The items shown are just examples and may change, but their effects are intentionally strong, like the “Mantle of Flames,” which deals 5,000 damage per second to all enemies around the player. Another example is the “Boots of Wondrous Rapidity,” which increase movement speed by a portion of the haste rating.
Whether these legendary items will truly have such an impact in the game remains to be seen. They definitely look promising and interesting.
