According to Blizzard, the class halls in World of Warcraft: Legion are not as bad as many are currently fearing.
Quests in the class halls make up only 3% of WoW: Legion
As the first images of the class halls and the associated quests appeared in the past few days, many players were greatly disappointed. Would these contents in Legion just be a continuation of the garrisons? Would one really have to send followers on missions all day long just so they could do the work for you while you just sit around at the command table?
In the official forum, Blizzard has now responded in a very detailed post and made it clear that they have heard the players’ concerns and have brought some things to light.
“While in Warlords of Draenor the garrisons and followers were a very large part of the content, the missions of the class halls will likely make up about 3%.”
Furthermore, one should not forget that the system in the Alpha of Legion is still in an early phase. Especially since the interface still strongly resembles the garrison, the impression could arise that it was copied 1:1. However, this is definitely not the case.
Nevertheless, there will be some missions that must be completed in the class hall. Certain parts of the class campaign would be “filler missions” where you have to send out your champions to retrieve certain artifacts (or similar). This varies from class to class and is intended to stretch certain quest lines a bit. Thus, you always know when the quest continues and you do not have to – as in WOD – wait until Wednesday.
In conclusion, they also have a message for all fans who think that these are just “sweet words” to calm the masses.
“We understand that there is a large amount of cynicism here and there are probably some reading this who think that these are just nice words to cover our sinister plan for the secret rule of the mission tables. But even if we wanted to, we know that we cannot hide anything here. Long before Legion is in the hands of all players, they will experience the system in its entirety in the beta – and judgments will be based on that.”
