World of Warcraft is collecting negative points again from LFR fans. They are not receiving quest items.
Hardly a day goes by without some group of players getting upset in World of Warcraft. This has happened again now that the first wing of the LFR version of the “Emerald Nightmare” raid has been unlocked. Many players are currently trying to complete the quest “The Essence of Power,” which promises a new design for the artifact weapon (at the very end of the quest line).
Today came the rude awakening: In LFR, the bosses do not drop the needed quest items. Immediately, numerous discussions broke out in the official forum about whether this is a bug. However, Blizzard clarified pretty quickly:
“With the opening of the first wing of the Emerald Nightmare in LFR mode, we wanted to mention that the quest items for “The Essence of Power” and “In the Nightmares” cannot be obtained in LFR. The description of these quests will be updated in a future patch, and the quests are meant to be completed in either normal or harder mode.”
So, anyone wanting to obtain the corresponding items and complete quests will have to find an intact raid group or gather some players around them.
Cortyn says: Overall, I think it’s good that there are some quest lines that only offer purely cosmetic rewards, like a new artifact weapon skin, which can only be completed in normal or harder mode. That’s exactly what prestige items are supposed to be: visual toys to showcase one’s achievements.
However, Blizzard did not do themselves any favors by not making this clear in the quests beforehand. At least the uproar in the forums is understandable. Still, I hope that Blizzard remains steadfast on this.
