In recent days, numerous fan sites have had the opportunity to speak with various developers of World of Warcraft to gather plenty of new information about Legion. We have summarized the most exciting statements for you.
Raids – at least 4 raids are planned
Regarding the number of raids, they want to be at least a bit broader than in Warlords of Draenor. At least 4 raids are planned, of which 2 will be included in the game at release (Nightmare and Suramar). Another raid instance is set to appear in patch 7.2, and there are plans for “at least one more raid” that will likely arrive with patch 7.3.
Dungeons – What role do they play?
In Legion, the dungeons, that is, the various instances on the Broken Isles, are set to play a larger role than in almost all previous expansions. Thanks to new systems, such as “Mythic+”, the instances will be challenging and useful throughout the expansion. Already in patch 7.1, there will be a new instance that will not take long to arrive – shortly after the release of Legion, the first patch is set to be deployed to the test servers. The dungeons are closely tied to the lore this time, and often the “finale” of a quest line takes place in the corresponding instances.
Artifact weapons – What happens “after” Legion?
In the last patch, the developers made a small change to the artifact weapons. Each weapon now has an additional property that can be upgraded once all other properties have been acquired. This directly increases the damage, healing, and HP of the respective specialization. However, since the costs of the upgrade continue to rise, it will take a long time to reach the maximum bonuses – the developers say they are “more thinking in months than in weeks”. What will happen to the artifact weapons after Legion remains undecided. First, they want to see how the weapons are received by players and whether it feels “right” to carry them into the next expansion.
Otherwise, Blizzard emphasizes all the things that it promises with every expansion: Fresh content is supposed to arrive regularly, and the big content drought should be avoided this time. At least that last promise has led to some amused eye-rolling among certain interviewers. They’ve simply heard it too often.
