Elemental and Enhancement Shamans will now use Maelstrom as a new resource. For the Healer, there are hardly any changes.
Elemental – Elementals as companions
Maelstrom will be the new resource; some abilities generate it, while others consume it. Mastery grants a chance that when using Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, or Lava Burst, a second spell is cast on the same target, dealing 75% of the damage and generating Maelstrom. Additionally, Elementals are no longer bound to totems but are now considered companions.
Enhancement – more crowd control through talents
This specialization will continue to focus on melee combat, using Maelstrom as a resource. Rockbiter is the new standard attack. It costs nothing and grants the resource. Similarly, the ranged spell Lightning Bolt: it has no cost and no casting time. Mastery increases your damage and chances of Windfury and Stormbringer.
Restoration – only a few changes
The mastery remains, as do many spells. Ultimately, not much changes with this specialization. For instance, Chain Heal loses 15% effectiveness per jump. New abilities include the Ancestor’s Protection Totem, which grants nearby allies more health and revives one of the affected upon death.
