Death Knight
Now there are only Death Runes. For the Blood playstyle, Rune Power generation becomes more important, while Frost relies solely on two one-handed weapons.
Blood – Rune Power generation becomes more important
Death Strike now costs Rune Power instead of runes, making Rune Power generation more important. Icebound Fortitude and Death Pact are removed, and Bone Shield has a different mechanic. It is built through the new attack Bonebreaker. Outbreak and Frost Fever are also removed, diseases can now be triggered by Death’s Hand or Boiling Blood. The latter is free and has 2 charges.
Frost – only two one-handed weapons
Killing Machine, which allows you to critically hit, now only affects Obliteration. Blood Plague and Outbreak are no longer usable; Howling Gale must take its place. It infects targets with Frost Fever and can be cast for free through Glacial Spike. Additionally, you now play exclusively with two one-handed weapons.
Unholy – focused entirely on diseases
Diseases will be the most important for Unholy Death Knights compared to the other specializations. Scourge Strike causes Scourge Wounds, which can be triggered by Plague Strike. You can create another disease through Outbreak: the Virulent Plague. You can now turn your ghoul into a monstrosity much easier, as Dark Transformation no longer requires any Runic Power.
