Warlock
From now on, all specializations use Soul Shards. Affliction remains focused on DoTs, and Demonology can summon numerous demons.
Affliction – more DoTs
Spells that deal damage over time will be primarily used, while the rest serve merely as filler. Channelable spells thus become less relevant. Soul Shards can no longer be generated from the last cast of Corruption but from any enemy affected by Agony. Thus, you can spread DoTs more frequently across more targets. You will have much to do since the spells are no longer maintained for long and must therefore be refreshed faster.
Demonology – no metamorphosis but many demons
You can no longer transform into a demon, but can control more. Wild Imps are summoned via the hand of Gul’dan. The number depends on how many Soul Shards you have consumed. You generate them through Damnation or Shadow Bolt. Dreadstalkers summon two creatures for the same amount of shards. They only attack the selected enemy, effectively acting like a DoT. You can increase your minion’s damage through Demonic Empowerment and mastery.
Destruction – random damage increase through mastery
The resource mechanic remains, but unstable embers become Soul Shards, which can be generated through Conflagration or Firebolt. It continues to receive some profound adjustments. Mastery randomly increases your damage by an unpredictable amount and is therefore not easily calculable. Chaos Bolt deals more damage, now costing two shards. Shadowburn remains, but has become a talent.
