Priest
Holy Priests lose their chakras, and those who devote themselves to Shadow fall into madness. The Discipline path turns the Priest into a smiter.
Holy – no chakras, better blessings
As a Holy Priest, you no longer devote yourself to the darkness, thus losing all Shadow abilities. Additionally, the chakra system has been removed, and the abilities that depended on it are now available to you freely. For Blizzard, the new blessings should feel like true miracles and each has a cooldown of one minute. However, you can reduce this cooldown using the passive talent Stroke of Fortune by casting certain spells.
Shadow – void form for more speed
You lose the Holy abilities and fall into madness. This refers to a new resource. Certain abilities increase the resource. When it is at maximum, Shadow Form turns into Void Form. This temporary state grants you a skill with Void Bolt that resets the duration of your DoTs. Additionally, the form increases your haste, even significantly beyond the time when you are in Void Form.
Discipline – smiting instead of absorbing
The developers deemed the absorption effects too strong and thus changed the mechanics of the Discipline Priest. Instead of primarily using shields, he utilizes Atonement, turning him into a smiter. By casting Atonement on a target, his damage spells cause additional healing. The more allies are affected by Atonement, the more you heal. Accordingly, with this specialization, you could use both Holy and Shadow abilities.
