Blizzard has made many changes to the classes in World of Warcraft. What should you expect with the upcoming expansion WoW: Legion?
The goal for this expansion was to highlight the differences between classes and their specializations more clearly. For this reason, many mechanics and abilities have been revised.
Particularly tanks are affected, as their playstyle is intended to become more challenging again. Healers will have more to do because there will be hardly any absorption shields. At the same time, their damage is massively increased, especially simplifying questing. The artifact weapons will also be relevant. They will be an important companion for you, as they grant you new abilities and enhance existing ones. Additionally, you won’t be able to deal much damage or healing without them.
On the following pages, you will find a very brief class guide detailing what changes with the Legion expansion for the classes.

Hunter
Beast Mastery receives few changes, BM Hunters can temporarily summon multiple companions. Survival Hunters will become melee fighters, and those with Marksmanship will usually play alone.
Beast Mastery – more animals again
This specialization will focus more on companions. Blizzard was quite satisfied with the previous playstyle, so the adjustments are not significant. The ability Alpha Beast is one of the core abilities of this playstyle. By using talents, you can customize this spell to cause more focus or damage during its duration. You can also summon further companions with it.
Survival – the new melee fighter
This specialization gives up the bow to use a melee weapon. Additionally, traps will be more relevant. Many abilities are new to help you adjust to this different playstyle. Harpoon allows you to be pulled to the target, essentially a reversed Death Grip. Mongoose Bite, on the other hand, increases its damage with each hit by 50%. This is stackable up to 6 times.
Marksmanship – sharpshooter without a companion
Here you give up your companion for more damage. This is made possible by the talent Lone Wolf, which increases your damage when you fight without a pet. Earlier Survival abilities can be found in this tree, such as Black Arrow and Secure and Load. The Black Arrow is a DoT that summons a minion for a few seconds, which draws the enemy’s aggro. It therefore serves well to replace your companion. Unfortunately, you will have to forgo the Chimera Shot.
