Having a character at level 100 alone is enough to experience the new content, but a little better preparation doesn’t hurt. The equipment can be adjusted, and having some gold on hand is never wrong. Professions should also not be forgotten.
Farming Equipment in World of Warcraft
You might think that preparation ends with reaching max level. In fact, level 100 is probably the most important thing. However, a certain item level is not wrong. It helps with further preparations and with the first quests in Legion. It can be earned in several ways:
Crafting: Some items can be crafted with the respective profession.
Dungeons: The classic way leads through heroic 5-man dungeons to LFR. If desired, you can then look for a raid group.
Ashran: The PvP area is also effective because the gear is usable for PvE. Once you have farmed your set, you can skip dungeons and LFR.
Making Gold – Being Rich Doesn’t Hurt
Besides the equipment, a small amount of gold is not only very practical for goblins. This can be farmed significantly easier. There are plenty of ways to do this:
The garrison allows for a steady income with little effort. With the inn at level 3, you have both missions with high gold rewards and followers with the trait “Treasure Hunter,” which further increase the yield. The Shipyard also yields one or two lucrative missions. The more characters and thus garrisons you own, the higher the income. This source will dry up with WoW Legion, as missions will then grant only oil or garrison resources. A corresponding build on the test server suggests this.
Old raid instances generate weekly income. Fortunately, we had the right equipment prepared beforehand, so that we can complete the 25-man instances from Cataclysm on heroic. More characters also mean a higher income.
One option that should never be forgotten is the auction house. Buying cheap and selling high is the basic principle. This can be implemented by monitoring prices over a longer period before investing your capital. You should not take part in the constant undercutting; however, it can be exploited to your advantage. Sometimes, not a copper less is demanded, but a significantly lower sum is requested. Then it is worth buying the goods and re-listing them at a higher price.
Bringing Professions Up to Date in WoW
The armor from professions should be powerful and significant.
Not only classes are often revised, professions are likewise constantly undergoing changes. We have already presented some changes. Recipes are no longer obtained from the profession teacher but through quests, and these have several ranks. Overall, professions will become somewhat more important again. Having as many of these crafts available is therefore extremely beneficial; after all, you can then provide for yourself. Especially at the beginning of an addon, products are relatively expensive, so you can earn a little extra.
Facing World of Warcraft Together Instead of Alone
Depending on personal goals, it makes sense to be in a guild beforehand, if you’ve been playing alone until now. During the leveling phase of World of Warcraft, quests are tackled together, and dungeons will also be explored as a group. Especially in the early phase, random groups are rarely enjoyable. Hardly anyone knows the tactics, and communication is, if possible, only possible via chat instead of Teamspeak. Moreover, in a community, all professions are usually represented.
Those who want to play actively in a raid group later should start looking soon. Because when the addon comes out, the groups are usually already full. Right now, however, you have the advantage that many are preparing for Legion and thus perhaps have lower requirements. Thus, the aforementioned Ashran gear is sufficient for a trial raid.
Final Preparations for WoW: Legion
Most of the work is done; only a few little things are missing. First, the inventory needs to be cleaned up so we do not have space issues while questing. Next, it is advisable to purchase bigger bags since we have the gold for it by now.
Furthermore, as many daily quests as possible should be accepted and completed, waiting a bit before turning them in. And the addons should be deactivated. They need some days to be updated. Until then, they can cause problems at worst. It’s better to get used to being without them for a few days beforehand.
