Patch 7.1 of World of Warcraft introduced new mounts and pets. We will tell you how to obtain the cute falcosaur.
In addition to all the obvious updates from Patch 7.1 in World of Warcraft, there were also some “hidden” contents that are not immediately obvious. This includes 4 new pets and 4 other mounts, all belonging to the falcosaur family. We will show you how to get the new creatures.
The most important requirement is to have a character at level 110 who has already unlocked world quests. Afterwards, check your map and watch for the following world quests along the coasts of the Broken Isles:
- Bloodgazer Swarm!
- Snowfeather Swarm!
- Duskclaw Swarm!
- Sharpclaw Swarm!
Go to the respective quest and defeat a matriarch of the respective swarm – the large elite with 12 million hit points. If you can’t manage that alone, wait for help or team up with a group. Once the matriarch is defeated, a stray young will appear near the respective quest. You can approach it and offer the creature food. Once you have done that, the pets will be added directly to your collection!
Each young is located in a different place and wants different food, which you can purchase in Dalaran from various innkeepers and vendors.
- Sharpclaw Young (47/10 in Val’Sharah) requires Dried Blueberries
- Snowfeather Young (32/28 in Highmountain) requires Smoked Ursa Ham
- Bloodgazer Young (35/7 in Azsuna) requires Azsunian Grapes
- Duskclaw Young (80/70 in Stormheim) requires Spicy Vrykul Meade
A video by Youtuber KingNono illustrates the process in the form of a short guide:
The Falcosaur Mounts – Now the Work Begins
If you still want to obtain the 4 mounts, you should plan a lot of time and bring a love for pet battles.
Each of the pets can be summoned as usual, and it will have a quest for you. At the beginning, the young want to gain experience and need to be leveled to level 25.
After that, you will receive a new quest from the young every day. Some are very simple, such as “Complete 5 world quests in Val’Sharah while your young is present.” Other quests require a good team of battle pets, as there are also missions that ask you: “Complete 3 pet battle world quests while battling with your young and 2 flying pets” – so there are very strict requirements.
You can only take one quest per day per pet, as then it gets exhausted and wants to rest, but with a little trick, you can bypass this limit. You will need a second character at level 110 for this. After you have completed the quest for the young, log onto your second character, summon the pet with him, and voila – you can accept the next mission. By the way, you can log back in to complete the quest, the missions are account-wide.
If you remain persistent, you will ultimately receive your own mount in the corresponding color of the respective swarm for each of your young. Collectors should start soon because who would want to miss out on 4 pets and 4 mounts?
A final note: Some of the quests cannot yet be completed as you need to enter the Night Fortress – which won’t open until January 2017. However, the Snowfeather Young and the Sharpclaw Young can already be played to completion.
