The Game Director answers the pressing questions about the classes of WoW. Not all answers will please the players.
A few days ago, the Game Director of World of Warcraft, Ion Hazzikostas, along with Community Manager Josh Allen, answered the community’s questions. Specifically, it was about the different classes of the game and what the future looks like.
However, the biggest topic was the adjustment of secondary stats on many items and how these interact with the character: In the future, you will need more points from almost every stat to achieve the same performance in numbers. It could be that a Mage with 47% critical strike rating drops a few points after the patch.
However, this is not a nerf, as many items now give more primary stats. The basic goal of 7.1.5 is not to nerf any class. There may be minimal differences, but significant damage changes should not occur in the end.
Little chance of changes for the Holy Paladin, major changes for the Warlock
Another question was about the Holy Paladin. A player wanted to know if they can expect an improvement in their group healing in the near future, as it currently looks quite poor. Here, Hazzikostas has no positive news, as the team is satisfied that every healer has their own niche. Paladins are indeed powerful single-target healers, and that will not change anytime soon.
Another topic was the Warlock. Many players feel that while it is now solid in dealing damage, it simply isn’t fun. Especially Demonology is not liked by many, as you often have to empower the minions to the second to be effective. This is rather “strenuous” gameplay and not really enjoyable. Hazzikostas understands these concerns and announces that there will be “major changes,” but they will take time. Presumably, they will not come with Patch 7.1.5.
Finally, Hazzikostas points out that with 36 different specializations, they unfortunately cannot treat all of them “in one go” and some classes need to be a bit more patient. Just because there is nothing for your own class in 7.1.5 does not mean that it is not on their radar. Unfortunately, not all issues can be fixed at once.
