The various events in World of Warcraft will soon scale with the players’ levels. Even small twinks will then be able to strive for the rewards.
At regular intervals, World of Warcraft is visited by various seasonal events. There are the classics, like the Hallow’s End or the Winter Veil, and some “younger” events like the revamped Valentine’s Day “Love is in the Air”. Almost all of these events have special rewards that can only be obtained for a limited time.
The rarest and most valuable rewards, such as the mount from the Headless Horseman or the Pink Love Rocket from Valentine’s Day, can only be farmed by characters who are near the level cap.
But that may soon come to an end. Already on the PTR of Patch 7.1.5, “Love is in the Air” is being revamped so that the event bosses scale – similar to the quest areas on the Broken Isles of Legion. In plain terms, this means that most players will be able to bring out their countless mini-twinks to farm the coveted mounts. In very special extreme cases, this will even lead to players leveling multiple characters to level 16 per day, just to have a chance at the rare mounts, delete the character afterwards, and then repeat the process as often as leisure allows.
The upcoming festival Winter Veil (essentially WoW Christmas) will probably not yet be affected by these changes, nor will the Lunar Festival scale yet. But afterwards, most events should be suitable for everyone who can enter the respective dungeon of the event at their normal level.
Cortyn says: I quite like these changes. Even though it has been a few years since I felt excluded from events because my character was still too low, it is surely nice for everyone wanting to complete their collections. This should also help some of the new players find joy in the diverse world early on.
Patch 7.1.5 also brings nerfs to popular abilities like “Jump from the Schippe” on Rogues.
