Of Frost Kittens and Flame Bears
The appearance of one’s character has always been an important matter in World of Warcraft. At the latest since transmogification, WoW players can relatively freely determine the design of their avatars – except for Druids in animal form. No matter how stylish the clothing may be in the regular form, once the Druid switches to cat or bear form, nothing remains visible. While there are some customization options for the cat, nothing of the equipment is seen. This is of course logical, as what would a wildcat do with a large scythe in its mouth?
With WoW: Legion, this changes! There are artifact weapons for all classes that can be adjusted in both strength and appearance. Druids are catered to in that the weapons now have effects on their animal forms. As an example, the “Claws of the First Saber” were mentioned: In their normal form, they give the horde cat metallic front legs, while adjustments allow for a complete coloring of the cat, for instance.
In total, there should be as many Druid customizations as for all other artifact weapons as well – so we can look forward to fire, frost, and corrupted kittens, and Druids finally have a way to show off their equipment even in animal form.
