Who is ahead in damage? The current numbers from the Nightmare create a clear ranking in World of Warcraft.
While a large portion of players is slowly but surely battling through the heroic mode of the Emerald Nightmare, most are asking: Is my damage sufficient? Which class is currently the best?
The Damage Dealers in the DPS Ranking
Numerous players upload their data to Warcraftlogs, which allows for fairly accurate statistics and statements about the current state of damage numbers. For yesterday, the ranking of damage dealers in the heroic Nightmare was as follows:
Shadow Priest, Fire Mage, and Marksmanship Hunter share the top spots, followed by Retribution Paladin and Arms Warrior.
At the bottom are the Survival Hunter (the new melee variant of the Hunter) and the Frost Mage, who has always had the reputation of being more suited for PvP. Nevertheless, these two specs are quite far “off the mark”.
In general, such statistics should always be taken with a grain of caution, as they do not represent “raw numbers”, but rather the average across different boss fights. In the next raid instance, with entirely different mechanics and a different number of targets, things may look different. Nonetheless, the values indicate that some classes could possibly use a little damage boost – such as the Frost Mage and Survival Hunter.
