With Legion, World of Warcraft gets a variety of new mounts. We will tell you which means of transportation you can look forward to.
Spiders, Bats, and Rats – Legion has Crazy Mounts
Among the most prestigious items of every World of Warcraft expansion are the mounts that players can obtain in various ways. While not all mounts are implemented in the current beta of the “Legion” addon yet, clever people have already read the game data and found some clues through this datamining about which mounts will appear. With this article, we aim to give you a small overview of the new models that have already been discovered.
Two Moose – Dead and Alive
Already in Warlords of Draenor, there was a moose mount for defeating Archimonde, with Legion adding (at least) two variations. The Grove Defiler can be obtained by completing a meta achievement during raids, and the Spirit of Eche’ro is a reward for diligent archaeologists.
Bloodfang Widow – A Spider for High Earners
The Bloodfang Widow can be indulged in by all players who have some gold saved up. For 2,000,000 gold coins, it can be purchased from a rather crazy gnome. The price is not final yet, but Blizzard has already announced that it won’t be significantly changed.
Fel Saber – The Mount of Demon Hunters
Similar to Death Knights, Demon Hunters as a “Hero Class” receive their own mount during the introductory questline. This Fel Saber is exclusive to Night Elves and Blood Elves who have joined the Illidari, i.e., become Demon Hunters.
Brinedeep Bottom-Feeder – Fish for Anglers
If you enjoy fishing and pulling a lot of fish out of the water, sooner or later you will get your own fish in Legion. However, you must fish up 100 “Drowned Mana,” which will likely be quite rare.
Ratstallion – Rats from the Sewers
If you like things exotic and oversized, you can earn your own rat. In the sewers of Dalaran, a total of 20,000 “blind eyes” must be collected to secure the achievement for Ratstallion.
Fel Bat – Demon Bats with Unknown Origin
In an addon dealing with the Legion, some demonic mounts must not be missing. One of them is the Fel Bat, but it does not have a fixed place of origin yet. Whether it will even be in the game at launch is questionable.
Stormdrakes – The Storm Dragons in a New Look
What would flying be without dragons? Not Warcraft, right! Therefore, there are new Storm Dragons in many colors. However, it is still unknown whether these will actually come as mounts.
Infernals – The Mounts of Gladiators
Another demon is the Infernal, i.e. the hell beast. These monstrosities of the Legion will likely be available for PvP players who secure the Gladiator title. Another model is likely to also be available in other ways, but no information is known yet about that.
Fathom Dweller – Tentacled Jellyfish for Deep Sea Divers
If you can’t get enough of tentacles, you will be happy with the Fathom Dweller. These mounts have actually been in the game files since Cataclysm, but with Legion, they will finally find their way into the hands of the players.
Llothien Prowler – What Does the Fox Say?
Animal lovers will surely be happy with the first rideable fox… once the source for the Llothien Prowler is revealed. So far, this is still a mystery, just like what it says.
Apart from the presented variants, there are also some new colorations of already known models. For example, Draenei get a new Elekk, Blood Elves get a new Hawkstrider, and Goblins get a new Trike. However, where and when these mounts appear is still uncertain.
