We introduce you to the three artifact weapons that hunters can obtain in World of Warcraft: Legion.
In World of Warcraft: Legion, much revolves around the artifact weapons. These are given to players early on and grow alongside their bearers throughout the expansion. Each talent specialization receives its own weapon, which means hunters have a total of 3 artifacts available. Let’s take a look at each weapon.
Beast Mastery – Titanstrike (Artifact Weapon for Beast Mastery Hunters)
Background: When technology and magic are combined, it is called (drum roll!) technomagic. Such a construct is Titanstrike, designed by Mimiron, one of the watchers of Ulduar. The brilliant inventor fused the technology of a firearm with the spark of thunder, which can tap into the essence of storms, transforming the projectiles into pure energy. This weapon was once intended for Thorim, another titan watcher – but due to various incidents in Ulduar, it was lost.
Properties of Titanstrike: The usual properties of the weapon are quite simple, as they mostly increase the damage of the hunter and the pet. However, the self-healing of the hunter is also enhanced, as Kill Command now restores a portion of the damage dealt as health.
All start with Hati’s Bond: In addition to your normal companion, Hati now fights by your side (as an additional companion).
Master of Beasts improves Hati, allowing him to benefit from additional effects: Hati can now be affected by Beast’s Fury, performs Beast Cleave, and deals damage with the ability Kill Command.
The Surge of the Storm God enhances your Multi-Shot, giving each use of the ability a chance to trigger an electric discharge at your companion, causing nature damage in an area around the animal.
With Titan’s Thunder, the hunter gains a usable ability. At the press of a button, all your companions become electrically charged and deal additional damage to their current target for 8 seconds.
Marksmanship – Thas’dorah, Legacy of House Windrunner (Artifact Weapon for Marksmanship Hunters)
Background: When the elven kingdom of Quel’Thalas was founded, the high elves still had many customs from their night elf siblings. Thas’dorah was carved from a branch of the Mother Tree of the Immersang Forest and became a heirloom of the Windrunner family. Over many centuries, the bow was passed down to the eldest member of the current generation of the family, eventually ending up in the hands of Alleria Windrunner, who was the ranger captain of the high elves. However, shortly after the destruction of Draenor, the bow disappeared along with its owner when the shattered world emerged.
Properties of Thas’dorah, Legacy of House Windrunner: The usual properties of Thas’dorah are relatively mundane but effective. Critical hit chance and damage from critical strikes are increased, and the cooldown of many abilities is reduced.
Starting with Windburst. It deals high damage to the target. At the same time, the ability creates a path of wind between the hunter and the target, increasing the movement speed of all allies by 50% for 5 seconds.
Legacy of the Windrunners improves the aimed shot. It now has a chance to summon 6 additional wind arrows that also deal damage to the target.
Bullseye significantly enhances the hunter in the final stages of a fight. If an ability deals damage to an enemy with less than 20% of their health, the hunter gains 3% critical hit chance for 6 seconds. This is stackable up to 30 times.
Call of the Hunter enhances the new ability Marked Shot, providing an additional chance to damage all vulnerable enemies with extra wind arrows.
Survival – Talonclaw, Spear of the Wild Gods (Artifact Weapon for Survival Hunters)
Background: Few weapons on Azeroth are as ancient as Talonclaw, which was crafted by the tauren of Highmountain long before the first invasion of the Burning Legion over 10,000 years ago. The bearers of this weapon have fought side by side with the ancients – protective animal spirits who wanted to safeguard Azeroth and especially the animals of this world. Over the millennia, this weapon has been imbued with countless blessings from these animal spirits, so now a part of that power slumbers within the spear.
Properties of Talonclaw: Survival is the new melee specialization of the hunter, hence the usual properties almost always enhance melee abilities. However, interestingly, the cooldown of the new harpoon can be reset each time an enemy is killed.
At the start, there is Fury of the Eagle, a channeled melee attack that deals high damage over 4 seconds.
Aspect of the Skylord increases all dealt damage by 30% while Aspect of the Eagle is active.
Eagle’s Bite enhances the hunter’s new harpoon ability. Each harpoon applies a DoT to the target, dealing damage over 12 seconds and is always renewed by automatic attacks.
Talon Strike enhances automatic attacks, as it gives the hunter a chance to trigger two additional attacks with each strike.
