In World of Warcraft: Legion, much is promised for the release. In the livestream, the developers explained what is coming – and what will be added later.
Flying only at “mid-expansion”
Until the release of World of Warcraft: Legion, the developers plan to hold a livestream every week, where they will answer questions from the community and explain their thoughts behind certain decisions. In the first of these livestreams, they had Ion Hazzikostas in front of the camera – the choice of topics was therefore diverse. We have put together the highlights for you.
A topic that has been controversially discussed repeatedly is the possibility of flying. As in Warlords of Draenor, it will not be possible to fly on the Broken Isles at the start of the expansion. While players can work towards the necessary achievement from the very beginning, they will only be able to soar into the skies “mid-expansion” – probably with Patch 7.1 or 7.2. In any case, more content is expected to appear after the introduction of flying.
What about Thal’Dranath?
For several months, fans have missed an area that was originally announced for Legion: Thal’Dranath. The island was supposed to be full of elven ruins and primarily inhabited by followers of the Legion. However, the zone was scrapped, according to Blizzard, “without sacrificing content.”
While no concrete details are mentioned here, the developers supposedly had a “much cooler idea” that players would love once it appears in the game – probably in some patch.
Patches – What comes after launch?
Blizzard has already planned quite a bit for the time after the launch. The first patch with a new instance is expected to appear just a few weeks after the release. After that, the story will continue in Suramar, and new animations for spellcasters will be introduced into the game. Generally, they want to – as every time – be better prepared and avoid a content drought. “But actions count here more than words,” Blizzard admits.
In next week’s livestream, they want to deal extensively with the professions in Legion.
