The resource Blood of Sargeras in WoW will become more valuable with Patch 7.1 – we reveal what is changing.
At the launch of the expansion “Legion,” Blood of Sargeras was quite rare and valuable – one needed the life essence of the demon lord to craft a variety of items and then enhance them with Obliterum. However, by now the blood has lost much of its value, and some players don’t even know what to do with it.
Enough blood spilled
Most players have now exhausted their Blood of Sargeras to craft good gear. However, even after that, the resource continues to flow into inventories, as bosses in dungeons and world quests often grant large amounts of the blood. This is particularly frustrating for pure collecting characters, as the blood is soulbound and thus worthless without a processing method.
This will drastically change in Patch 7.1. From then on, there will be a vendor who exchanges the blood for various crafting materials. For almost all crafting materials, you get 10 in exchange for 1 blood, with the following exceptions:
- Demonsteel x5
- Leylight Shard x3
- Starlight Rose x3
- Intact Tooth x20
- Intact Claw x20
- Box of Order Resources x1
Especially the box will please many players, as it is account-bound and contains 200 order resources, which can easily be given to their alt characters.
These details are currently still from the PTR – they may change before the release of the patch.
Cortyn says: While I appreciate that one can buy various crafting materials for Blood of Sargeras, I find the account-bound order resources to be a thorn in the side. For this takes a very significant step towards the “twink obligation” and ultimately ensures that players lounge around in the order halls with their 10 characters. Order resources should only be granted to a character when they go “out into the world” – and that should not change. I fear Blizzard is making a big mistake here. One that could easily be avoided.
At least I then have a good source for Highmountain Salmon…
