Patch 7.2 brings new skins for all artifact weapons in World of Warcraft. We will show you what they look like.
Although there weren’t any truly major (or unexpected) announcements at BlizzCon, the developers of World of Warcraft have really put in the effort to present a whole range of new features coming to fans of World of Warcraft in the coming months.
The big question is: How will players be able to obtain these new artifact weapon skins? Here, Ion Hazzikostas already had an answer: A class-specific challenge. They have taken their inspiration from the (very old) quests for the Blessing/Curse or the epic Hunter Bow and Staff in Classic. Each character must complete a special, class-specific quest solo to unlock the new skin.
Some of these artifact weapon designs have already been seen in the past, for example at GamesCom. With Patch 7.2, they can finally be obtained.
Cortyn says: Since a good portion of these skins were known in advance, and it was previously assumed that they were simply “cut” from the finished game, it is not surprising that they are now being added. However, I like the idea of a personal class challenge that must be completed to obtain the new skins. I can only hope that these tasks are actually as challenging as the Hunter or Priest questlines used to be. Since this is the benchmark that Blizzard has set for itself, I am initially optimistic.
Particularly interesting is the new design of the Guardian Druid. I am quite curious how this artifact weapon design fits into the lore of the game world and what kind of “type” of Druid it is supposed to be.
