With a trick, you can already “farm” legendary items in advance, so that you can grab a few in the upcoming WoW Patch 7.3.5!
The latest raid of World of Warcraft, Antorus, the Burning Throne, has been open for a while. This has allowed players to upgrade their legendary items from item level 940 or 970 to item level 1000.
A few days ago, a revelation came: With Patch 7.3.5, it will be possible to exchange the Awakening Essences needed for the upgrade directly for legendary items. 175 Awakening Essences are required to obtain a legendary item.
However, this brought a problem: Those who had already been diligent and upgraded all legendary items in their possession could no longer receive Awakening Essences. The quest “A titanic effort” is required for this, which is no longer available after upgrading the last legendary.
Craftable legendaries allow farming of Awakening Essences
However, with a trick, you can unlock this quest again! Simply head to an auction house and buy one of the craftable legendary items at level 940 or 970 (that can be used by your class). Once the item is in your possession, you can return to Arcanist Vridiel in Dalaran and accept the quest again.
From now on, you will receive Awakening Essences from the usual sources: raid bosses in Antorus, the daily emissary caches, the first heroic dungeon of the day, etc.
The purchased legendary item can be sold again after you have re-accepted the quest. This keeps your financial loss within limits – ideally, you can simply trade a legendary with your friends until everyone has re-accepted the quest.
With the release of Patch 7.3.5, it should be possible to exchange the farmed Awakening Essences directly for legendary items. Those who act wisely now can save a lot of time later!
What do you think of this method of farming legendary items? A good thing, or does it take even more of the uniqueness away from the orange items?
