Got any achievements in World of Warcraft? Then hurry up – not much time is left, as some will soon disappear permanently.
Slowly but surely, the typical “after-work” mood begins in Battle for Azeroth, after all, the WoW expansion is in its final stages. The beta of Shadowlands is in full swing and the months until the release can be counted on one hand. But this also marks the last chance to snag some cool rewards. Many of them will soon be gone, as they will disappear with Shadowlands – others will then be significantly harder to obtain.
These rewards will disappear with Patch 9.0
Even with the pre-patch 9.0, a lot will be revamped in World of Warcraft. The changes to the systems ensure that some rewards will be disabled or made harder to access. In particular, the following achievements:
Awakened Mindborer: This mount is currently available for the achievement “Master Keys of Battle for Azeroth: Season 4”. The achievement requires you to complete all current dungeons at “Mythic +15” difficulty (or higher) within the time limit. Since the difficulty of the dungeons varies drastically depending on the week and the corresponding affixes, you should start as soon as possible.
Powerful Caravan Brutosaurus: This mount is also known as the “Auction House Dino”. The good piece costs a whopping 5 million gold coins and is correspondingly pricey. However, the dinosaur has an auction house on its back that you can use anywhere in the world. With the pre-patch, the dinosaur will no longer be sold and will instead rarely appear in the black market auction house – presumably at a much higher price.
World of Madness: You will receive this achievement if you complete both Disturbing Visions of Orgrimmar and Stormwind with 5 active masks. You must master all areas while doing this and must do it alone, meaning you cannot be in any group. If you succeed, you will receive the title “the Faceless”.

Corruption disappears: All corruption effects and thus also the corruption resistance disappears. Anyone who still wants to experiment with the powerful effects should do so in the coming weeks.
End of the PvP season: As usual, the PvP season also ends with the pre-patch. Anyone with a high rating in PvP who wants to secure the exclusive mount, the tabard, or the title should push their rating as soon as possible.
These rewards will disappear with Shadowlands
With the official release of Shadowlands, some further achievements and rewards will come to an end. These include:
Unsullied Voidwing: Those who manage to defeat N’Zoth, the Corruptor in the raid Ny’alotha on heroic difficulty will receive a quest item whose quest grants the mount “Unsullied Voidwing” at the end. The item is only available until the start of Shadowlands; after that, this impressive mount can no longer be obtained.
Champion of Azeroth: The achievement “Phenomenal Cosmic Power” will also soon be unavailable. This is a hidden achievement that you receive if you possess all essences of the Heart of Azeroth for one of your specializations at rank 4. Rank 4 essences will no longer be available with the launch of Shadowlands. So now is the last chance to get the cool title “Champion of Azeroth”. Hurry up, as some of the essences are really hard to farm and require strong achievements in both PvP and PvE.
Two mounts become rarer
Lastly (or perhaps not?), the drop rate of two mounts from Battle for Azeroth will be drastically reduced when Shadowlands launches.
Icy Tidestorm: This cool frost elemental currently drops from Jaina in the Mythic Battle of Dazar’alor – even 2x per run. The drop chance will be drastically reduced, which is why all mount collectors should grab it as early as possible.
Allseer of Ny’alotha: This mount also currently drops 2x per run, namely from the Mythic N’Zoth in Ny’alotha. However, this will change with Shadowlands, so you should search for a group for this achievement as early as possible or prepare for long farming in Shadowlands.
How long do you still have? That is not entirely clear. There is currently no release date for Shadowlands and therefore no date for the pre-patch. However, Shadowlands is expected to be released in 2020, and the pre-patch usually comes 4-6 weeks before. In the “best case”, you have until mid or late November. However, likely a bit less. So hurry up.
