The War Mode in World of Warcraft divides our readers. Our survey shows: Players are split into three camps.
Just a few days ago, we asked you about the War Mode in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. We wanted to know how and if you use the War Mode, and many of you participated in the survey. Now it’s time to evaluate the results from our readers (as of: 06.09.2018, 16:00).
A total of 57% of our readers choose the War Mode. They roam through Azeroth with the constant threat of an attack from the Horde and Alliance at their backs. However, the motivation for this is quite different:
- 34%, a bit more than a third of the voters, use the mode and also engage in PvP – they are actively looking for a skirmish
- 23%, on the other hand, have only activated the War Mode because they are keen on the 10% bonus. They enjoy more gold, more war resources, and also more artifact power for the Heart of Azeroth
Almost half avoid the War Mode
With 43% of the participants in our survey, a large part of the players is not excited about the War Mode. They completely avoid this gameplay style and prefer to enjoy the game world without the constant threat of an attack from the opposing faction.
Not surprisingly, as anyone who wants to play “casually” and not be suddenly killed while completing world quests or during an extensive farming tour saves a lot of nerves.
Opinions from the community
The survey was also actively commented on by you. The divided opinion is reflected in the comments as well. Here are a few excerpts:
- en RageD: “I activated it from the start, but only because of the 10% on everything. PvP is and remains simply uninteresting to me in this game.”
- Bonebanger: “Can you disable PvP as a Rogue? […] No, seriously, I find the War Mode is the best thing that could be done since the introduction of cross-realm play.”
- Oliver Floßdorf: “I have the War Mode turned off. I think it’s great that each player can now decide for themselves how they want to play.”
Especially the last comment seems to be the most widely shared opinion: The abolition of PvP servers and the introduction of the War Mode is a win for all sides.
